What to Expect

The Yoga Foundations: Essential Pose Series is a hands-on workshop program designed to help you advance your practice and deepen your knowledge, one foundational yoga pose (asana) at a time. This series covers essential yoga poses (asanas) you’ll find in most classes, including standing, seated, balance, twists, backbends, folds, hip openers, inversions, arm balances, and the full Sun Salutation. Each workshop gives you the tools to build a strong, safe, and sustainable practice—whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your technique. Each workshop is designed to provide a comprehensive and immersive learning experience. Workshops will generally include: • Warm-Up Flow – Gentle sequences to prepare the body and mind for practice. • Pose Overview & Technique Breakdown – Step-by-step instruction on the featured asana(s). • Pose Modifications & Variations – Adjustments for all levels, ensuring accessibility and safety. • Pose Transitions – Guidance on how each asana connects to others for smooth sequencing. • Alignment Principles – Focus on safe and effective body mechanics. • Pose Philosophy – Exploration of the deeper meaning and intention behind the posture. • Physiological Impact – Insights into how the asana affects the body, muscles, and energy systems. • Open Discussion + Q&A – Opportunity for participants to ask questions, share experiences, and deepen understanding. Note: Workshop content may vary slightly depending on class level, instructor, and specific asana focus. Format: In-person workshops Co-led by: Michelle Paton & Danielle Preston Duration: 9 - 1.5 hours/workshops Full Series — $200 9 sessions (1.5 hours each) → 13.5 hours total Commit to the full series for consistent practice and maximum growth.
